Riverside Diner

This was our first time at Riverside Diner and I'm glad we tried somewhere new for breakfast. Its a nice small place nestled in an Industrial area with good character. Homey inside with friendly good service. Food was flavorful and presentation was on point. We tried the Veggie Omelet and the (BBB) Big Biscuit Breakfast. The Veggie Omelet was light & airy just as requested. Added jalapeños for a nice kick! Seasoned potatoes had a nice little crunch to them. Side order of crispy bacon was just that "Crispy" Mmm! The BBB had great flavor with a open face biscuit with sausage patties, eggs (to your liking) and smothered in sausage gravy. The sausage gravy had a great consistency with just enough black pepper to give it some spice. I thought about trying the pancakes but didn't. Then I saw a plate of them go pass our table and Holy Schnikey did they look good. (Next Time) Breakfast "All Day" & Lunch starts at "10:30". We will definitely be back again. I definitely recommend the Riverside Diner!!!

Had Breakfast there this morning. OMG service was wonderful. Our server was so polite. The food was DELICIOUS!! I was born in this neighborhood across the street, the apartment has been torn down. Moved at a very young age. My siblings were in their teens when we moved. I'm sure they will visit this restaurant and relive some fond memories growing up here. The inside of this diner is so cute and inviting!

Solid south side breakfast diner. Off the beaten path….if you know (you know). The service is prompt & pleasant. Plenty enough seating and the place is clean. I usually order takeaway breakfast. The coffee is good & hot, veggie egg white omelette with spinach added does the job. Pancake was a bit doughy for my taste but fluffy. The biscuits & gravy was a win for my dining companion.

Cool old-fashioned greasy spoon in an area of South City you would never expect. In the transition zone between residential and river related industrial. Gives a vibe of a different place and time. Inside isn't much to write about, but does add to the vibe in it's historical accents and quaintness. I got the slinger and I will admit I have had better. It was fine, just wasn't made exceptionally well. Coffee was good and everyone else I was with seemed to enjoy themselves. Service was friendly. Parking is either on-street or in an old lot across the intersection. Not ideal if you are shepherding a few kids, but it also isn't a busy thoroughfare in the weekends.

MJ and I went there for a Sunday Brunch. We were not disappointed. It is an out of the way spot but it was packed. We had to wait maybe 30 minutes. The reason was the food. Simply it was delicious. We both had pork chops, eggs, and biscuits. The server also gave us a small sample of hash browns. That was quite tasty, as was the whole brunch. A telling sign was that as we were eating, at least two people came back the area near the kitchen to tell the staff that they enjoyed their meal. The food was good and the service was first rate. The price of the meal was quite reasonable. We might go back again in the near future.

I visited this place after reading the reviews and this place is a hidden jewel. The service was outstanding, we were greeted and seated right away with friendly smiles. It has a homey atmosphere, even the patrons were friendly. I had the pork chops and potatoes. The seasoning on the potatoes was very flavorful and the pork chops were moist and delicious. There was three of us in my party and we all came away truly satisfied. Definitely coming back!
